Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Faisalabad

BISE FSD: Board of intermediate and Secondary Education, Faisalabad was established in 1988. And It is now under the Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1976. So there are 15 members on the Board of Governors including the Chairman. However few members are ex-officer and others nominate as per provisions of the Act.

The Board is an autonomous institution with the power to make rules. So it does not receive any grant-in-aid or any donation from the Govt or other semi Govt agency. Similarly, It has to generate its own funds through the levy of examinations and other fees. In addition, the Board is an autonomous body. And Govt of Punjab is its controlling authority.

The controlling Authority/Govt appoints The Chairman, Secretary Controller of Examinations, and Audit Officer, As well as DPE. For example on deputation normally for a period of 3 years. Also, Other officers and staff in BS-16 and above appoint by the Governors. Furthermore in BS-5 to BS-15 by the Chairman and in BS-1 to BS-4 by the Secretary.

Services Providing by BISE FSD

The main Services of the Boards are as under to:-

Hold and conduct examinations pertaining to Intermediate Education, Secondary Education, Pakistani and Classical Languages and such other examinations as determined by the government.
Accord, refuse or withdraw recognition to the Educational Institutions.
Lay down conditions for appointment to various examinations held by the Board.
Grant certificates and diplomas to the successful candidates.
Fix, demand and receive fee.
Award scholarships, medals and prizes to position holders.
Organize and promote extra mural activities.
Create posts and appoint such staff as may be necessary for the purpose of its functions. Also provides that a post in Bs-17 or above, will create with a prior approval of the Controlling Authority.
Make provision for building’s premises, furniture, apparatus, books and other means required for carrying out the purposes of the Act.
