ABOUT BISE RAWALPINDI

BISE Rawalpindi: Board of intermediate and Secondary Education, DG.KHAN has constituted under West Pakistan. So Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education). So it is now governing by the Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1976.

BOARD OF GOVERNORS

There are 15 members on the Board of Governors including the Chairman. In addition to that few members are ex-officio and others are as per provisions of the Act.

FUND RAISING OF BISE RAWALPINDI

The Board is an autonomous institution with the power to make rules. So It does not receive any grant-in-aid or any donation from the Govt. As well as from other semi-Govt agencies. So It has to generate its own funds through the levy of examinations and other fees.

APPOINTMENTS

The Board is an autonomous body and Govt. Thus making Punjab its controlling authority. The controlling Authority/Govt appoints the Chairman. And also Secretary Controller of Examinations. As well as Audit Officer, and DPE. Such as on deputation normally for a period of 3 years. In addition to that, the Governor appoints other officers and staff in BS-16 and above. Similarly in BS-5 to BS-15 by the Chairman. And in BS-1 to BS-4 by the Secretary.

WHAT WE DO

The main function of the Boards are as under to:-

Hold and conduct examinations pertaining to Intermediate Education, Secondary Education, Pakistani and Classical Languages, and such other examinations as determined by the government.
Accord, refuse or withdraw recognition to the Educational Institutions.
Lay down conditions for appointment to various examinations held by the Board.
Grant certificates and diplomas to the successful candidates.
Fix, demand and receive fee.
Award scholarships, medals and prizes to position holders.
Organize and promote extra mural activities.
Create posts and appoint such staff as may be considered necessary for the purpose of its functions; provided that a post in Bs-17 or above, shall be created with a prior approval of the Controlling Authority.
Make provision for buildings premises, furniture, apparatus, books, and other means required for carrying out the purposes of the Act.
